EQUIPMENT / WARRANTY COMPARISON

Compare solar warranties without reading the fine print first.

A warranty is more than a number of years. Start with the headline cover, then check the one or two conditions that could materially change what that cover means for your home.

Australian manufacturer terms checked 12 October 2026. Exact model and installation date still matter.

THE SIMPLE VERSION

Why “10 years” does not always mean the same thing

BATTERY

Years + retained capacity

A battery may be covered for ten years but only promise a stated percentage of its original usable energy by the end of that period.

BATTERY

Years + usage limit

Some warranties finish when a cycle or energy-throughput limit is reached, even if the stated number of years has not elapsed.

INVERTER

Standard + extended cover

An inverter may have a shorter standard warranty with extra years available only after registration, monitoring connection or a paid extension.

CLAIM

Hardware is not the whole job

Ask whether the written terms cover labour, freight and site attendance. A free replacement box is not automatically a free replacement job.

Three questions are enough to start

  • What exact product and warranty document applies? Model families can have different terms under the same brand.
  • What can end or reduce the cover? Look for throughput, cycles, registration, internet connectivity and installation requirements.
  • Who pays to make the system work again? Confirm the claim path, labour, freight and the retailer's own obligations.

These manufacturer warranties sit alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law. For the broader legal and workmanship-warranty picture, read the Australian solar warranty guide.

Use the warranty pages with an actual quote

Once you have model numbers, open the relevant manufacturer profile and current warranty terms together. That is much more useful than assuming one brand is better because its headline number is larger.
