Four things worth checking before requesting a quote

  1. Daytime versus evening use. Gather a recent bill, and interval data if available, to establish when you consume electricity.
  2. The real roof. A useful quote can often begin with satellite imagery, but the proposal still needs property-specific checks for usable space, shading, orientation, roof material and safe equipment placement. A physical visit is most useful where those details cannot be resolved reliably from imagery and supplied photos.
  3. Connection and export conditions. Identify the electricity distributor for your actual address and request property-specific connection advice.
  4. Current incentives and written terms. Check eligibility with the relevant government program and read the precise product and installation warranty documents.

Check independent resources

SunSPOT's rooftop solar tool ↗ offers independent roof-mapping guidance, subject to its coverage.

The Victorian Government's distributor information ↗ can help identify the provider relevant to your property. Do not infer a network export limit from a suburb or postcode.
