Starting points for Werribee homeowners
Wyndham's Sustainable Homes information links householders to residential efficiency and solar guidance. The council also documents solar installations on public buildings in Werribee, which are useful examples of local projects but do not establish a private property's electricity generation.
Wyndham's general Sustainable Homes page contains an outdated Victorian solar-panel rebate figure. Always verify current rebate amounts, income thresholds and eligibility at Solar Victoria; do not use older council examples in a live quote.
This guide is an introduction to the questions that might apply locally, not a statement that every property in Werribee has the same roof or electricity requirements.

Recorded solar activity in postcode 3030
As at 31 August 2026, Clean Energy Regulator records show 18,992 solar installation events and 122.4 MW of recorded rated solar capacity in postcode 3030.
- Recorded installations
- 18,992 installation events
- Recorded capacity
- 122.4 MW
- Average recorded capacity
- 6.4 kW per installation event
- Older recorded cohort
- 27.1% from 2015 or earlier
- 2026 recorded installations
- 1,035 (provisional)
The CER counts certificate-backed installation events, including new systems, upgrades and stand-alone systems. It is not a count of unique homes. Postcode 3030 may also cover places beyond Werribee, so these figures are postcode-level context rather than a statistic about every Werribee property. The older-cohort share describes when events were recorded; it does not prove that the original equipment is still on a roof or needs replacement.
If building or renovating, reserve useful roof and electrical space early
Coordinate proposed panel layout with skylights, roof vents, orientation, switchboard planning and a safe route for potential future battery cabling. A house with an established roof needs a different assessment from an unfinished build. Avoid assuming one roof angle, sunlight exposure or system size applies throughout Werribee.
Questions worth asking
- Have roof fixtures been located with a potential solar layout in mind?
- Which parts of the electrical installation should accommodate confirmed future needs?
- What assumptions still need property-specific verification before installation?
Model real future demand without inflating a new home's consumption
If a household plans electric heating, hot water or vehicle charging, list when those appliances are likely to operate. A new home without bills needs transparent assumptions rather than a made-up historical usage profile. Comparing a current-usage case with a separate planned-upgrades case keeps the solar design understandable.
Questions worth asking
- Which appliances and schedules have actually been selected?
- Will a future EV usually be home during daylight generation?
- Does the model include a realistic winter production scenario?
Treat council examples as context, not a current rebate calculator
Wyndham's long-lived educational page includes an older rebate example, so the current Solar Victoria and Clean Energy Regulator pages are the appropriate sources for up-to-date entitlement rules. Ask your retailer to show gross installed price and each eligible deduction separately, including the distinction between solar-panel and battery certificates.
Questions worth asking
- Are both federal and Victorian amounts current for the intended installation date?
- Which deductions have already been applied to the quoted total?
- Does the quote identify who completes network connection approval?
Start with your electricity use.

A selected postcode is a navigation aid only. Our calculator's first version uses a published typical Melbourne benchmark, not a suburb-specific solar production model.
